“CARIBBEAN VIBZ” with a French Connection!

Sandrine Haguy

Sandrine… Who? 🙂

Sandrine is a volunteer from France who joined the Rupununi Music & Arts Festival’s Crew in 2017 at the first Georgetown Connection event. Over the last few years, she has been supporting the Festival on a ‘when you need me’ basis but in 2020 she decided to become more proactive, completely redesigning the Festival’s website and in the creation of visuals to promote the Festival.

Currently based in France, she will be hosting the streaming event on Sunday 18th April 2021 on the Caribbean Vibz special – recalling memories of Caribbean artistes who have performed at the Festival over the years. “I am delighted and proud to present this session because it is all about a region that is very close to my heart”, she said, with her trademark big smile!

From French Guyanese and Caribbean heritage, she has always kept a link with the Caribbean, “That’s the region where I want to operate. I have had beautiful and rich experiences on different islands and the Guianas. That’s where I feel at home. The Covid crisis has kept me away for a while but I can’t wait to be back”, she said, and added, “I hope the situation improves so that we can be back with a live Festival as soon as possible!”
