All of us have been impacted, in one way or the other, by the Covid-19 pandemic. In particular, those of us involved in the arts and culture arena have suffered significantly with no live arts events and venue closures, restrictions on live performances, cancellation of touring – national and international- and overall, with partial or full lockdowns. Nevertheless, when restrictions were lifted, Bob travelled to Guyana to continue plans for live events in the future with meetings in Georgetown and Lethem.

Thanks to GTA’s sponsorship and a very useful follow-up meeting with colleagues there, the Festival has been streaming bi-monthly events since December 2020, with the last programme, a Guyanese special ‘Is We Ting’, streamlined in October 2021. With the continuing positive support of TGA, Bob and Denis visited Lethem to meet with volunteers, caterers, supporters and the Chair of the RDC to explore new possibilities for live events in 2022 and there were several successful meetings with the planning group, volunteers, sponsors and supporters in Georgetown.
